Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai invites on-line applications from Indian citizens for appointment in the Clerical Cadre posts in State Bank of India. Candidates are requested to apply online between 01.05.2008 and 31.05.2008 through Bank?s website http://www.statebankofindia.com and http://www.sbi.co.in. For applying on-line, the candidates should go to a CBS branch of SBI, pay the amount of fees and get cash Receipt with unique deposit journal number. This number should be correctly entered while registering an application on-line. No other means / mode of application / print-out will be accepted.
Educational Qualification (as on 01.07.2008)
a. “Minimum 12th standard (10+2) pass or equivalent qualification there of with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS). OR A degree from a recognised university (graduation level) with a minimum of 40% marks” (35% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS).
“Candidates appearing for the 12th/Graduation examinations during this year will be allowed to appear provisionally for the written examination subject to their submitting the original mark sheet as a proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of interview” if called for the same.
b. Should be able to write and speak English fluently.
c. Knowledge of other Indian language will be an added qualification.

Candidates are required to go to any CBS Branch of State Bank of India and pay the amount of fees and get receipt from the branch. The candidates are required to apply online through website http://www.statebankofindia.com and http://www.sbi.co.in. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
The last date of registering applications is 31.05.2008.
Application registration on our website will be open from 01.05.2008 to 31.05.2008.
GUIDELINES FOR FILLING APPLICATION ARE AS UNDER :
1. Candidates should have a valid email id. This will help him/ her in getting call letter/ interview advices etc.
2. Candidates should have the Deposit Journal No. (receipt of payment of fees) from CBS branch of State Bank of India before applying online.
3. The payment of fees should be made before the 31.05.2008. This date will be same for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas.
4. Candidates should keep a copy of the Application printout and Payment Receipt (Deposit Journal No.) for their record. An ‘Acquaint Yourself’ booklet will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for written test.
5. Candidates serving in Government/Quasi Government offices, Public Sector undertaking including Nationalised Banks and financial Institutions will be required to submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses, if any, otherwise admissible, will not be paid. Original payment receipt will have to be submitted with the call letter at the time of written examination.
6. The reserve category candidate will have to produce his/her original caste certificate/ relevant certificates at the time of interview, failing which his/her candidature shall be cancelled and he/she will not be admitted for interview. OBC candidates, availing reservation will have to produce OBC certificate with Non-creamy layer clause issued on or after 01.01.2008 at the time of interview.
